House of Dracula 1945

Can man seek a cure for his afflictions?  Does man have a responsibility to his fellow man?

On The Legacy Collection DVD courtesy of Professor Tom, I watched House of Dracula - 1945.  It's Universal's last big hoorah featuring several monsters. After watching Val Lewton's psychological take on thrillers, this movie seemed a bit "over-done."

Certainly evidence of the Hayes code is in effect (e.g. "God and His divine workings make it possible" as well as "Now all we can do is hope and pray").

Don't want to give away the story line in the event anyone watches it. However, all the monsters are represented: Dracula, Frankenstein, Wolf Man, and a female Hunchback nurse (very interesting Watson).

I noticed the camera seemed a  bit shaky for the first half hour or so. Not sure why that is????

There was a scene reminiscent of "The Wizard of Oz" (when Dorothy has everything spinning about her surrounded by a whilte cloud). Exact scene--different objects.

You can definitely see all of the "Hollywood" sets in evidence. If interested check out this website:
