Monsters

I enjoyed this film. It was not a typical monster or horror film. It did have a lot of social issues and had me wondering what I would do if I was in the same situation. I felt the film was pretty realistic as compared to other alien type films. I liked the dynamic between the two main characters and could relate to them. This is not the typical good winning over evil with a happy ending movie and that is another reason it seems realistic to me.

  1. I too watched this film. The production was alot higher quality that I was expecting. I found that this film had alot of similiarities to District 9. In fact, I think Monsters is better than District 9. Here's why: Monsters, at least initially, is not constantly distracting you with the special effects of the actual creatures. In Monsters, you don't really see the creature fully for a long time, allowing to absorb more of the situation and characters.

I liken Monsters to this: if an socially-responsible indie film and a Godzilla film had a child it would be Monsters.
